Jason Holt, CEO, is a leader in Asian real estate, with past and current involvement with more than US$1 billion in real estate assets in primarily the residential and hospitality sectors of Japan while being based in Tokyo since 2000.  As founder and CEO of EastEdge, established in April of 2007, he has guided the firm into innovative real estate and hospitality projects in Japan and other parts of Asia. He has significant experience on the forefront of the Japanese real estate and equities markets, participating in the fledgling J-REIT market from before its deregulation in the breadth of pre-REIT, IPO, post-listing J-REIT, and private real estate fund investor relations, investment management & execution, and project management capacities.

Mr. Holt holds a China Emphasis MBA from the University of Hawaii Shidler College of Business Administration, an International Management Certificate from JAIMS (Japan-America Institute of Management Science), Honolulu, Hawaii, and a BA in Japanese / Minor in Asian Studies from Brigham Young University in Utah. He is fluent in spoken and written Japanese and Mandarin.

Hiroshi Senda, Director of Development, has joined EastEdge following a successful career overseeing high profile hotel developments with major development companies such as Japan Airlines/JAL Hotels (Nikko Hotels) and Ishin Hotels. His experience spans more than 30 years in locations such as Japan, Philippines, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Guam and Malaysia. His recent assignments have included undertaking due diligence and evaluation work regarding hotels for Hudson Japan (LoneStar), Creed, Agora Development and others; and advisory work for the renovation of the Sea Hawk Hotel in Fukuoka and takeover of the asset for Goldman Sachs.

Previously with the Ishin Hotels Group, he was responsible for acquisition and development of hotels from land sourcing, feasibility studies, due diligence, price negotiation and execution. He served extended tenure with Japan Airlines/JAL Hotels, reaching the position of Vice President & General Manager of Development.

He was responsible for the development of Nikko brand hotels in Kuala Lumpur, Hanoi, New Delhi, Saipan, Guam and other locations. For each project, he was responsible for land acquisition, construction management, forming the pre-opening team, setting the pre-opening budget and opening of the hotel. EastEdge is also allied with several experienced hospitality consultants, who assist our projects on a project by project basis.

Robert Philips, Consultant, Sales and Marketing, is a dynamic global sales and marketing leader, with two decades of experience in hospitality management and business consulting. His specialties include sales management, marketing communications and Internet development. Prior to working with EastEdge, he was Director of Sales & Marketing for Oakwood Asia Pacific, a division of Oakwood Worldwide. In this role, he supervised all sales and marketing activities for 12 operating serviced apartment-hotel properties (totalling 1,500 rooms) and 30 sites under development (an additional 3,000 rooms), and helped guide the portfolio to exceed occupancy and revenue targets from 2004-2006.

In previous roles at Oakwood, Philips was Director of International Communications, overseeing Oakwood’s public relations, Internet content and vertical marketing to key customer groups; and International Marketing Manager, planning the company’s international expansion in Asia and Europe. Earlier in his career, Philips worked for business consulting firm JP Associates, assisting clients such as Rochester Gas & Electric and Reebok International. He has been a member of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), Hospitality Sales & Marketing International (HSMAI) and has been a guest speaker at the 2006 China International Real Estate Conference. Philips has a B.A. from Hobart College in Geneva, New York.
